£18.95

Written in romantic tonal language Beighton's Sonata for 'Cello and Piano is concerned with the exploration of classical form and its relevance in the 21st century. The first movement is in Sonata Rondo form, which makes much use of continuous development and explores the lyrical nature of the cello. The Scherzo is in Sonata form and makes a great deal of use of retrograde and augmentation as developmental tools. The Finale is a theme and variations in the style of a Baroque Gigue.
