Of Mozart’s five most often heard operas Il Seraglio was the first to be composed. This arrangement by Carlo Martelli of the brilliant and vivacious overture, with its plaintive middle section, is of the version with a concert ending.
Review: “A fine sophisticated arrangement in the Classic String Quartet Collection for a very advanced high school string quartet or for gigging musicians. There is ample challenge and fun throughout for all members of the quartet. For colleges, conservatories and professionals.” – American String Teacher November 1999
